Rapper Remy Martin has been found guilty on four charges stemming from an incident last July where she was accused of shooting her former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph after accusing her for stealing $3,000 dollars from her purse.
This is a very very sad story. I am saddened by the stupidity of Remy Ma for shooting someone in an effort to maintain street cred. It's real hard to sell albums from jail--just ask Shine. Shaking my head. The full story can be found here. Also, Remy is facing up to 25 years in prison.
I know I am late with this video but this is so cute and hilarious. I love the noise Charlie makes when he bites plus the fact that he is as big as his brother. AND how cute are the accents!
Hey Peeps. Here is the second installation of Hot Guys From The 90's That I Wanted To Do When I Was Underaged, But Wouldn't Touch Now (HGFTNTIWTDWIWUBWTN). At first I was going to do David Burns but no one remembered (or cared) about him so I thought to post on another MTV classic--Eric Nies.
For those readers under the age of 25 who are unfamiliar, Eric Nies was the resident hottie on the first season of The Real World. He was a "model" from New Jersey and was in love with his roommate Julie the resident southern belle who always wore the most amazing spandex bike shorts. He also played the part of bleeding heart liberal young white man in regular conflict with Kevin Powell's irrational angry black man.
After his stint on The Real World Eric then moved on to the apex of his career hosting MTV's The Grind where he frequently went shirtless or applied the classic vest over no shirt look.
In recent years he has made appearances on Real World/ Road Rules "The Gauntlet." I didn't really watch the show, but from the clips that I did see he was still looking pretty good and I was very pleased with how he had aged until I saw this recent pic:
WTF Eric Nies?????
As a bonus please enjoy this clip from The Grind where Deion Sanders performs "Must be the Money." Oh the 90's.
Mos Def on Karamloop TV. There is some wisdom buried in this enthusiastic rambling and he is thoroughly entertaining. It amuses me that white college kids and hipsters love Mos even though he is so black and militant--which is what makes me appreciate him more.
I'm feeling in a bit of nostalgic mood so I wanted to pay tribute to the opening theme songs of some classic 90's sitcoms. Some similarities to note:
The use of jazzy piano riffs
Raspy soulful singing (clearly by white folks)
Saxophone
Full House: This song is a classic blue eyed soul jam. Also the video will remind you what unattractive children the Olsens were.
Step By Step: I think this may be the same guy singing. Also this intro reminded me of how much this show actually kinda sucked.
Family Matters: Ahh how can you not love this show? ABC's attempt to fill the respectable Black family on TV gap left by the Cosby show. Again I think its the same guy singing and this one has a great example of the shitty jazz piano riff. Man remember Waldo Faldo?
Perfect Strangers: This jam is smooth yet epic. The show was excellent as well. I implore someone to turn this into a feature film. It would be a hit. I mean who wouldn't appreciate 90 minutes of hijinks with Larry and Balki
